Tadawul Review: 

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rose on Tuesday, gaining 46 points (+0.4%) to close at 11,876. The trading session began on a positive note with a 16-point increase at the opening and maintained its upward momentum throughout the session. In general, 12 out of 21 sectors closed in the green zone, and 138 shares rose while 90 fell. Banks (+0.9%), Energy (+0.6%), and Utilities (+0.3%) sectors contributed the most to the index rise. Stockwise, Al Rajhi Bank (+2.0%), Aramco (+0.5%), and Etihad Etisalat (+2.7%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed an increase in volume and value of 43% and 11%, respectively, to reach 636mn shares and SAR6.0bn in value traded.

 

 

Market Wrap International: 

US Markets saw gains on Tuesday after Wall Street’s positive performance, with investors looking ahead to Nvidia's earnings and keeping an eye on Donald Trump’s cabinet selections for his new administration. The Nasdaq Composite advanced by 1%,  the S&P 500 rose by 0.4%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped by -0.3%. 

European stocks slipped, contributing to a broader market downturn, as global bond prices rose on heightened anxiety over the latest developments in Russia’s war with Ukraine. The FTSE 100 slipped -0.1%, the Euro STOXX 600 fell -0.4%, while both the DAX and CAC 40 dropped by -0.7%.

Markets in Asia are experiencing positive movements, driven by tech company earnings. Investors worldwide are also focusing on important cabinet selections under the new US administration this week. The SHCOMP climbed 0.7%, while the NIKKEI 225 gained 0.5%. The Hang Seng advanced by 0.4%, and the KOSPI saw a rise of 0.1%.
