Tadawul Review:

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rose on Monday, gaining 97 points (+0.8%) to close at 11,592. The index opened 35 points above its previous close and fluctuated in positive territory for several hours before gradually rising until the close. In general, 21 out of 21 sectors closed in the green zone, and 214 shares rose while 36 fell. Banks (+0.6%), Energy (+1.0%), and Utilities (+3.2%) sectors contributed the most to the index rise. Stockwise, ACWA Power (+4.4%), Al Rajhi Bank (+0.9%), and Aramco (+0.9%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed an increase in volume and value of 21% and 21%, respectively, to reach 283mn shares and SAR5.6bn in value traded.

 

Market Wrap International:

Wall Street rebounded sharply as investors rotated back into technology and growth shares after recent weakness, supported by upbeat corporate earnings and tempered inflation expectations that eased concerns over Federal Reserve policy tightening. The Nasdaq led gains while the S&P 500 and Dow also advanced as Treasury yields stabilized and financials and consumer discretionary sectors outperformed. S&P 500 +1.6%, Dow Jones +1.3%, Nasdaq +2.2%.

European markets followed the U.S. recovery, lifted by stronger risk appetite and corporate optimism, though lingering fiscal and inflation uncertainties kept gains moderate. Industrials and technology stocks led the advance across the major bourses. FTSE 100 +0.2%, DAX +0.6%, CAC +0.2%, Euro Stoxx 600 +0.4%.

In Asia, sentiment was subdued as investors digested mixed Chinese data and ongoing property-sector stress. Mainland and Hong Kong equities fell, with the Hang Seng underperforming, while South Korea slipped on semiconductor weakness; Japan’s market was closed for a holiday. SHCOMP –0.2%, KOSPI –0.7%, Hang Seng –1.5%, Nikkei 225 closed.
