In general, 18 out of 21 sectors closed in the green zone, with 189 shares rising while 35 fell. The Banks (+0.6%), Materials (+0.6%), and Insurance (+1.9%) sectors contributed the most to the index's rise. Stockwise, Al Rajhi Bank (+1.2%), Aramco (+0.6%), and Alinma (+1.2%) were the major contributors. Trading activity saw an increase in volume by 26%, while the value traded decreased by 2%, reaching 691 million shares and SAR 5.7 billion.
As a weekly average, U.S. indices saw gains, with the S&P 500 rising 0.71%, the Dow Jones up 0.39%, and the NASDAQ leading at 1.09%. The upcoming Retail Sales report on October 17 will be a crucial indicator for stock markets, reflecting consumer spending trends and offering insights into economic growth and inflationary pressures.
As a weekly average, European indices showed mixed results. The FTSE 100 declined slightly by -0.33%, while the DAX gained 0.18% and the CAC fall with a -0.08% decrease. The EURO STOXX 600 also saw a slight decline of -0.10%, reflecting overall mixed sentiment. On Tuesday, October 15th, Europe will release the Euro area Bank Lending Survey will be released.
As a weekly average, Asian indices posted mixed resulrsts, led by the Hang Seng at -2.18% and the SHCOMP at -0.47%. The Nikkei 225 rose by 2.59%, while the TOPIX increased by 1.48% and the KOSPI gained 0.90%.
