Tadawul Review:

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rose on Thursday, gaining 26 points (+0.2%) to close at 11,612. The index opened 14 points above its previous close, then declined for about an hour before recovering and continuing to rise for the rest of the session. Overall, 16 out of 21 sectors closed in the green zone, and 153 shares rose while 97 fell. Materials (+0.8%), Retailing ‎‎(+1.8%), and Telecommunications (+0.5%) sectors contributed the most to the index rise. Stockwise, Maaden (+0.9%), Saudi Telecom (+0.9%), and Sabic Agri-Nutrients (+2.2%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed a decrease in volume and value of -8% and -9%, respectively, to reach 226mn shares and SAR4.9bn in value traded.

 

 

 

Market Wrap International:

U.S. stocks rallied to fresh highs after softer-than-expected inflation data bolstered expectations for further Federal Reserve rate cuts. The September CPI rose just 0.3 %, below forecasts, easing bond yields and fueling gains across major sectors. Earnings optimism added support, with financials and tech leading the advance. The S&P 500 +0.8 %, Dow Jones Industrial Average +1.0 %, and Nasdaq Composite +1.1 %.

European markets followed Wall Street higher as global risk appetite improved. Optimism over U.S. inflation and prospects of easing trade tensions lifted sentiment, though gains were capped by mixed corporate results and persistent growth concerns. The FTSE 100 +0.7 %, DAX +0.1 %, CAC 40 -0.002 %, and EURO STOXX 600 +0.2 %.

Asian equities advanced broadly, tracking the global uptrend and supported by expectations of policy support in China and stronger export outlooks. Foreign inflows lifted South Korea and Japan, while Hong Kong and China saw modest gains amid continued stabilization efforts. The Shanghai Composite +0.7%, KOSPI +2.5 %, Nikkei 225 +1.4 %, and Hang Seng Index +0.7 %.
