Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) fell on Wednesday, dropping by 7 points (-0.1%) to close at 12,362. The index opened 7 points higher than its previous close and continued to rise until the middle of the session. However, it began to decline gradually and ended the day in the red zone. Overall, 11 out of 21 sectors closed in the red zone, while 122 shares fell and 109 rose. Utilities (-1.2%), Materials (-0.4%), and Insurance (-0.5%) sectors contributed the most to the index fall. Stock wise, ACWA Power (-1.5%), Elm Co. (-4.0%), and Sabic (-1.9%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed an increase in volume and value of 18% and 10% respectively, to reach 346mn shares and SAR7.6bn in value traded.

Nasdaq outperformed on Wednesday, lifting U.S. stocks, as Netflix (NFLX) soared to a record high. Hopes for increased AI demand under Donald Trump offset worries about new tariffs. The Dow Jones Industrial climbed by 0.3%, the S&P 500 advanced by 0.6%, and the NASDAQ rose by 1.3%.
European exchanges traded in positive territory, led by the DAX, which rose sharply following encouraging corporate updates. The CAC 40 increased by 0.9%, the DAX gained 1%, and the Euro STOXX 600 rose by 0.4%.
Asian stocks had a mixed session, with Chinese markets unsettled by President Trump’s latest comments on tariffs. Key indices such as the SHCOMP dropped by -0.9%, and the Hang Seng slipped by -1.6%. In contrast, the KOSPI rose by 1.2%, and the NIKKEI 225 increased by 1.6%.
