Market Wrap International:

U.S. equities ended lower on Friday after a stronger-than-expected May employment report pushed Treasury yields higher and led investors to reassess expectations for Federal Reserve policy, triggering a broad pullback in technology and semiconductor shares following an extended AI-driven rally. The weaker Wall Street tone carried into Europe, where major markets also finished lower as investors weighed the implications of higher global interest rates, elevated energy prices and ongoing Middle East tensions, with technology stocks and other growth-oriented sectors facing pressure. In Asia, major markets closed the week on a softer note as profit-taking in technology and semiconductor names, expectations for tighter monetary policy and concerns over higher energy costs weighed on sentiment, reinforcing a cautious end to the week across global equity markets.
