Tadawul Review:

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) fell on Tuesday, dropping 43 points (-0.40%) to close at 10,698.81. The index opened 4 points above its previous close, but it recovered some losses before the close; however, it still ended in the red zone. Overall, 12 out of 21 sectors closed in the red zone, and 95 shares rose while 163 fell. Banks (-1.1%), Energy (-0.4%), and Food & Beverages (-1.0%) sectors contributed the most to the index decline. Stockwise, Alrajhi (-1.8%), Alinma (-4.4%), and Saudi Aramco (-0.4%) were the major contributors to the index decline. The trading activity witnessed a decrease in volume of -16% to reach 201mn shares, while value witnessed an increase of +13% to reach SAR ‎‎4.5bn in value traded.

 

Market Wrap International:  

U.S. equities ended higher as strong gains in semiconductor and other large-cap technology stocks lifted investor sentiment, while corporate earnings optimism outweighed concerns over elevated Treasury yields and higher oil prices linked to Middle East tensions. Chipmakers led the advance following renewed buying interest after the recent technology-led pullback, with investors also positioning ahead of earnings from major technology companies for further signals on AI-related spending. The S&P 500 gained 0.9%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.7%, and the NASDAQ advanced 1.3%.

European equities ended higher as improving global risk appetite and strength in technology and industrial shares supported broad-based gains, while investors continued to monitor corporate earnings and the implications of higher energy prices. The positive lead from Wall Street helped offset concerns over inflation and interest rates, with cyclical sectors outperforming and defensive sectors posting more modest moves. The FTSE 100 rose 0.6%, the DAX gained 0.7%, the CAC 40 added 0.3%, and the EURO STOXX 600 advanced 0.6%.

Asian markets are trading mostly higher as investors responded to the stronger U.S. session and renewed demand for technology shares, while easing concerns over the recent semiconductor selloff improved sentiment across regional markets. Japanese and South Korean equities led gains on technology and export-related stocks, China also advanced on improving risk appetite, while Hong Kong slightly underperformed amid selective profit-taking. The Nikkei 225 gained 3.3%, the KOSPI rose 3.6%, the Shanghai Composite advanced 1.8%, and the Hang Seng edged -0.04% lower.
