Tadawul Review:

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rose on Tuesday, gaining 39 points (+0.36%) to close at 10,852.41. The index opened 4 points above its previous close, but before closing it faced selling pressure, yet remained in the green zone. Overall, 12 out of 21 sectors closed in the green zone, and 118 shares rose while 136 fell. Utilities (+2.3%), Banks (+0.2%), and Materials (+0.4%) sectors contributed the most to the index rise. Stockwise, ACWA Power (+3.1%), Almarai (+1.9%), and Alrajhi (+0.2%) were the major contributors to the index rise. The trading activity witnessed a decrease in volume of -10% to reach 220mn shares, while value witnessed an increase of +13% to reach SAR 4.3bn in value traded.

 

 

Market Wrap International:  

U.S. equities ended lower as renewed concerns about the sustainability of the artificial intelligence rally triggered a broad selloff in semiconductor and technology shares, while higher oil prices linked to Middle East tensions also weighed on sentiment. Chipmakers led the declines after a sharp drop in South Korean technology stocks raised questions over AI-related valuations ahead of the upcoming earnings season. The S&P500 fell -0.4%, the NASDAQ dropped -1.2%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined -0.2%.

European equities ended lower as a global retreat in technology stocks overshadowed optimism surrounding increased defense spending and resilient economic conditions in the euro area. Semiconductor-related companies and industrial names underperformed, while energy shares provided some support following higher oil prices. The FTSE 100 gained 0.1%, while the DAX fell -1.4%, the CAC 40 declined -0.5%, and the EURO STOXX 600 lost -0.6%.

Asian markets are trading sharply lower as concerns over stretched AI valuations and heavy selling in semiconductor shares triggered a broad regional risk-off move. South Korea led the declines after a steep selloff in major chipmakers, while weakness spread to Japan, Hong Kong, and mainland China amid persistent concerns over global technology demand and continued foreign outflows from regional equities. The KOSPI dropped -4.9%, the Nikkei 225 fell -2.1%, the SHCOMP declined ‎‎-1.3%, and the Hang Seng slipped -0.5%.
