Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rose on Wednesday, gaining 95 points (+0.8%) to close at 11,681. The trading session began positively, with an 81-point increase compared to the previous close. The index reached its highest point during the early hours of the day, then remained stable in the green zone until the end of the session. In general, 19 out of 21 sectors closed in the green zone, and 189 shares rose while 54 fell. Banks (+0.5%), Utilities (+2.9%), and Materials (+0.9%) sectors contributed the most to the index rise. Stockwise, ACWA Power (+3.6%), Saudi Telecom (+2.5%), and Aramco (+0.6%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed an increase in volume and value of 28% and 12% respectively, to reach 295mn shares and SAR6.0bn in value traded.

Global markets rallied sharply as investor sentiment improved following conciliatory remarks from U.S. President Donald Trump regarding trade tariffs and Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell. The easing of tensions between the U.S. and China, along with assurances about Fed leadership, sparked gains across major indices. The S&P 500 rose 1.7%, Dow Jones gained 1.1% and Nasdaq Composite jumped 2.5. The rally was driven by strong performances in technology and consumer discretionary sectors. Notably, Tesla surged 8%, Nvidia rose 5%, Meta Platforms gained 4%, and Amazon advanced 4%.
European stocks climbed as easing trade tensions and positive corporate earnings, particularly from SAP, boosted investor confidence. The prospect of a reduction in U.S. tariffs on Chinese imports further supported the rally. The STOXX 600 increased 1.8%, DAX advanced 3.1%, CAC 40 gained 2.1% and FTSE 100 rose 0.9%
Asian markets mostly advanced, reflecting optimism over potential de-escalation in the U.S.-China trade dispute and reassurances regarding U.S. monetary policy leadership. The Nikkei 225 increased 1.89%, Hang Seng rose 2.37% and KOSPI gained 1.6%. while SHCOMP slightly declined by -0.1%.
