Tadawul Review: 

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rose on Sunday, gaining 24 points (+0.2%) to close at 11,865. The session began on a negative note, with an initial 20-point drop, but gradually gained momentum during the first half hour before slipping again toward the close. In general, 10 out of 21 sectors closed in the green zone, and 124 shares rose while 99 fell. Banks (+0.4%), Materials  (+0.6%), and Energy (+0.3%) sectors contributed the most to the index rise. Stockwise, Al Rajhi Bank (+0.4%), Aramco (+0.4%), and Maaden (+1.9%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed a decrease in volume and value of -14% and -22%, respectively, to reach 594mn shares and SAR4.2bn in value traded.

 

 

 

Market Wrap International: 

As a weekly average, the S&P 500 and Dow Jones both declined by 0.5%, while the NASDAQ fell by 0.9%. The US GDP (QoQ) for Q3, set to be released on November 27, 2024, will provide key insights into the economic performance for the third quarter of the year.

In Europe, the FTSE 100 gained 1%, supported by strength in sectors like energy and consumer goods. Meanwhile, the DAX dropped by 0.3%, the CAC fell by 0.8%, and the EURO STOXX 600 declined by 0.5%, reflecting cautious investor sentiment.

In Asia, the SHCOMP saw a sharp decline of -2.2%. The KOSPI rose by 1.1%. However, Japan’s markets were weaker, with the NIKKEI 225 down by -1.8%, the Hang Seng falling by -1.2%, and the TOPIX dropping by -0.9%.
