Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rose on Sunday, gaining 100 points (+0.9%) to close at 11,742. The session began with a solid 40-point gain, but then experienced a gradual decline until the middle of the day, before recovering and finishing the day with a positive close. In general, 19 out of 21 sectors closed in the green zone, and 159 shares rose while 64 fell. Banks (+1.1%), Utilities (+3.0%), and Food and beverages (+1.6%) sectors contributed the most to the index rise. Stockwise, Al Rajhi Bank (+1.9%), ACWA Power (+3.8%), and Aramco (+0.4%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed a decrease in volume and value of -17% and -23%, respectively, to reach 313mn shares and SAR4.6bn in value traded.
As a weekly average, the S&P 500 rose by 1.3%, the Dow Jones increased by 2.6%, and the NASDAQ gained 0.9%. Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell will deliver a key speech on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, offering insights into the U.S. economy and monetary policy.
