Tadawul Review:

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) fell on Wednesday, dropping by 39 points (-0.3%) to close at 12,386. The index opened negatively, down 9 points from the previous close, and continued to decline until the end of the session. Overall, 12 out of 21 sectors closed in the red zone, while 184 shares fell and 52 rose. Materials (-1.0%), Real Estate (-1.2%), and Utilities (-0.8%) sectors contributed the most to the index fall. Stockwise, ACWA Power (-0.9%), Elm Co. (-2.4%), and Jabal Omar (-2.1%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed a decrease in volume and value of -7% and ‎‎-12%, respectively, to reach 292mn shares and SAR5.6bn in value traded.

 

 

 

Market Wrap International:

U.S. stocks mostly declined on Wednesday after a hotter-than-expected January inflation report. The S&P 500 slipped 0.3%, weighed down by a 2.69% drop in the Energy sector. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 0.5%, while the NASDAQ managed a slight gain of 0.03%.

European markets edged higher on Wednesday as investors assessed a stronger-than-expected U.S. inflation report. The FTSE 100 secured its third consecutive record close, buoyed by a 6% surge in Prudential shares after the company considered listing part of its ICICI Prudential Asset Management stake. The CAC 40 rose 0.2%, the DAX gained 0.5%, the Euro STOXX 600 advanced 0.1%, and the FTSE 100 edged up 0.3%.

Asian markets edged higher on Wednesday as investors assessed the impact of President Donald Trump’s latest tariff measures. The Hang Seng jumped 2.6%, the SHCOMP rose 0.9%, the Nikkei 225 advanced 0.4%, and the KOSPI gained 0.4%.
