Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rose on Wednesday, gaining 19 points (0.2%) to close at 12,439 level. The index started the day strong, with a 59.17-point increase compared to the previous close, but quickly experienced a sharp drop. Then, the market began to recover, showing a steady upward trend. In general, 5 out of 21 sectors closed in the green zone, and 58 shares rose while 174 fell. Banks (+1.7%), Telecommunication (+0.3%), and Media (+0.4%) sectors contributed the most to the index rise. Stockwise, Al Rajhi Bank (+4.7%), Alinma Bank (+1.8%), and Saudi Telecom (+1.0%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed a decrease in volume and value of -8% and -2% respectively, to reach 327mn shares and SAR8.8bn in value traded.

In light Lunar New Year trading, Asian stocks advanced on Wednesday, tracking Wall Street’s tech-driven rebound as concerns over DeepSeek continued to ease. The NIKKEI 225 gained by 1.0%, and the TOPIX rose by 0.7%.
