Tadawul Review:

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rose on Monday, gaining 14 points (+0.13%) to close at 10,813.04. The index opened 6 points above its previous close, but before closing it faced selling pressure, yet remained in the green zone. Overall, 13 out of 21 sectors closed in the green zone, and 96 shares rose while 157 fell. Banks ‎‎(+0.2%), Energy (+0.2%), and Health Care Equipment & Services (+0.5%) sectors contributed the most to the index rise. Stockwise, Saudi Aramco (+0.2%), BSF ‎‎(+1.3%), and Alrajhi (+0.2%) were the major contributors to the index rise. The trading activity witnessed an increase in volume and value of +24% and ‎‎+25%, respectively, to reach 245mn shares and SAR ‎‎3.8bn in value traded.

 

Market Wrap International:  

U.S. equities ended higher as renewed strength in artificial intelligence and semiconductor stocks lifted investor sentiment ahead of the start of the second-quarter earnings season. Technology shares outperformed after optimism surrounding Broadcom's extended chip partnership with Apple, while a softer U.S. jobs report continued to support expectations that the Federal Reserve may refrain from raising interest rates in the near term. The S&P500 rose 0.7%, the NASDAQ gained 1.1%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced 0.3%.

European equities ended mixed as investors locked in profits following the previous week's record highs, while stronger-than-expected German industrial orders helped the DAX outperform regional peers. Utilities, healthcare and consumer defensive shares weighed on the broader market, although industrial names received support from upbeat economic data and selected corporate developments. The FTSE 100 declined -0.3%, the DAX increased 0.1%, the CAC 40 fell -0.3%, and the EURO STOXX 600 slipped -0.3%.

Asian markets ended mixed as investors balanced continued optimism toward Chinese equities with weakness in South Korean technology shares following Samsung's earnings update. Hong Kong outperformed on improving sentiment toward Chinese assets, while mainland Chinese, Japanese and South Korean markets remained more cautious amid selective profit-taking and technology-related weakness. The Hang Seng gained 1.1%, the SHCOMP declined -0.1%, the Nikkei 225 slipped -0.01%, and the KOSPI fell -0.5%.
