Tadawul Review:

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rose for the fifth consecutive day on Monday, gaining 142 points (+1.2%) to close at 12,097. The session opened on a positive note with a 32-point increase and continued to gradually rise, breaking through the 12,000-level barrier. In general, 15 out of 21 sectors closed in the green zone, and 126 shares rose while 96 fell. Banks (+2.4%), Materials (+0.8%), and Energy (+1.6%) sectors contributed the most to the index rise. Stockwise, Al Rajhi Bank (+4.1%), Aramco (+1.3%), and Sulaiman Al Habib (+3.2%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed a decrease in volume by -33% to reach ‎‎586mn shares, while the value increased by 48% to reach SAR6.8bn in value traded.

 

 

Market Wrap International: 

A setback in Nvidia's stock on Monday derailed Wall Street's surge and pulled U.S. stock indexes down from their record-breaking peaks. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite both fell by -0.6%, respectively, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average saw a decrease of -0.5%. 

 

European stocks held steady near six-week highs on Monday, with mining and luxury stocks leading the way amid signals of fresh stimulus for China's struggling economy. However, mixed market trends persisted as investors remained cautious over the geopolitical landscape. The CAC 40 rose by 0.7%, the FTSE 100 advanced 0.5%, the broader Euro STOXX 600 gained 0.1%, while the DAX was down by -0.2%.

 

South Korean stocks dropped significantly on Monday, reflecting the political upheaval in the country after President Yoon Suk Yeol narrowly avoided impeachment in the wake of his brief martial law declaration last week. Major Asian indices, including the Hang Seng and NIKKEI 225, gained by 2.8% and 0.2%, respectively. In contrast, the KOSPI and SHCOMP saw losses of -2.8% and -0.05%.
