Tadawul Review:

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) closed flat on Wednesday, edging up by just 0.49 points (0.00%) to finish at 11,005. The market opened positively, surging early in the session to touch an intraday high of 11,165 points, its highest level of the day. However, selling pressure emerged late morning and persisted through early afternoon, dragging the index steadily downward. Despite a mild recovery in the final hour, the index closed near session lows, ending a volatile trading day with no major gains or losses. up most early gains. Overall, 12 out of 21 sectors closed in the green zone, while 149 shares rose and 89 fell. Banks (+0.4%), Materials (+1%), and Real Estate (+1.4%) sectors contributed the most to the index rise. US stocks ended lower on Wednesday as investors took a breather from the recent rally, digesting a preliminary U.S.-China trade agreement and softer-than-expected inflation data. Major indexes hovered near prior closing levels, with notable declines in Technology Hardware & Equipment (-1.62%), Consumer Discretionary (-1.02%), and Materials (-0.98%). The Nasdaq fell by -0.5%, the S&P 500 dropped by -0.3%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average was nearly unchanged.

European shares gave up early gains to close in the red, as the highly anticipated U.S.-China trade talks wrapped up with little substance, leaving investors disappointed despite talk of high-level agreements. The CAC 40 dropped by -0.4%, the DAX fell by -0.2%, the Euro STOXX 600 slipped by -0.3%, while the FTSE 100 advanced by 0.1%.

Asian shares rose, boosted by optimism after the U.S. and China announced they had agreed on a framework to build on last month’s trade truce in Geneva. The positive tone in trade discussions helped lift sentiment across the region. The Nikkei 225 experienced an increase of 0.5%, the KOSPI recorded a gain of 1.2%, the SHCOMP noted a 0.5% rise, and the Hang Seng index registered a 0.8% uptick.
