Tadawul Review:

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rose on Wednesday, increasing by 264 points (2.3%) to close at 11,970. TASI started the session on a positive note, opening 22 points higher than the previous close, and continued to steadily rise until the end of the session. Overall, 21 out of 21 sectors closed in the green zone, while 239 shares rose and ‎‎14 fell. Banks (3.1%), Materials (1.3%), and Energy (2.1%) sectors contributed the most to the index raise. Stockwise, Al Rajhi Bank (3.0%), Aramco (2.1%), and ACWA Power ‎‎(3.1%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed an increase in volume and value of 9.8% and 13%, respectively, to reach 290mn shares and SAR6.2bn in value traded.

 

Market Wrap International:

Wall Street’s three-day winning streak ended on Wednesday as major stock benchmarks fell, led by a sharp decline in big tech. Renewed concerns over trade tensions and inflation dampened risk appetite, with the S&P 500’s Semiconductors & Semiconductor Equipment (-4.61%), Information Technology (-2.46%), and Communication Services (-2.04%) sectors leading losses. The S&P 500 fell by       -1.1%, the Nasdaq decreased by -2.0%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined by -0.3%.

European stocks closed lower on Wednesday, dragged down by auto sector losses ahead of a looming U.S. tariff announcement. The CAC 40 slipped -1.0%, the Euro STOXX 600 edged down -0.7%, the FTSE 100 rose by 0.3%, and the DAX lost -1.2%.

Asian markets rose on Wednesday, rebounding from a quiet Wall Street session, as investors remained hopeful that Trump’s tariffs would be less severe than initially expected. The Hang Seng rose 0.6%, the Nikkei 225 gained 0.7%, and the KOSPI finished higher by 1.1%. In contrast, the SHCOMP declined by -0.04%.
