Tadawul Review:  

The Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) fell for the fourth consecutive day on Thursday, dropping 11 points (-‎‎0.1%) to close at 10,867. TASI opened 10 points lower than the previous close, then fluctuated throughout the session and by the end closed in the red zone. Overall, 17 out of 21 sectors closed in the red zone, while 159 shares fell and 87 rose. Banks (-0.3%), Energy (-0.7%), and Insurance (-1.0%) sectors contributed the most to the index fall. Stockwise, Aramco (-0.7%), Riyadh Cables Group (-2.2%), and Electrical (-3.7%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed an increase in volume and value of 47% and 24%, respectively, to reach 289mn shares and SAR5.2bn in value traded.

 

 

Market Wrap International:

U.S. stocks ended sharply higher on Friday, as investors responded to signals from Fed Chair Powell about a possible rate cut. The Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 1.9%, the S&P 500 rose 1.5%, and the Nasdaq Composite gained 1.9%

European markets were mixed, with gains in autos, chemicals, and banks offset by weakness in housing and tech, while German GDP revisions limited momentum. The FTSE 100 rose 0.1%, the Euro STOXX 600 gained 0.4%, the DAX advanced 0.3%, and the CAC 40 added 0.4%.

Asian markets diverged, powered by strength in Hong Kong and South Korea. The Hang Seng Index climbed 0.9%, buoyed by technology and chip optimism, the Kospi gained ‎‎0.9%, while Japan’s Nikkei 225 rose by 0.1%.
