Tadawul Review: 

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rose on Sunday, gaining 29 points (+0.2%) to close at 12,127. The trading session began positively, rising by 21 points compared to the previous close, and continued in the green zone, with the highest point during the session reaching 46 points. In general, 16 out of 21 sectors closed in the green zone, and 140 shares rose while ‎‎91 fell. Materials (+1.0%), Utilities (+0.7%), and Telecommunications (+0.7%) sectors contributed the most to the index rise. Stockwise, ACWA Power (+0.8%), Etihad Etisalat (+2.2%), and Sabic Agri-Nutrients (+3.2%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed a decrease in volume and value of -39% and -43%, respectively, to reach ‎‎219mn shares and SAR4.2bn in value traded.

The upcoming release of USD CPI (YoY) (Dec) on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, will be closely watched by investors.

This week, key inflation data will be released across Europe, starting with the U.K.’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) year-over-year for December on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, followed by Germany’s month-over-month CPI for December on Thursday, January 16, 2025, and concluding with the eurozone’s year-over-year CPI for December on Friday, January 17, 2025.

This week in Asian markets, Japan observed Respect for the Aged Day on Monday, January 13, 2025, and China will release its Q4 GDP (YoY) data on Thursday, January 16, 2025, offering insights into the region’s economic trends.
