Tadawul Review: 

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) declined on Wednesday, dropping by -22 points (-0.2%) to close at 11,892. The index opened 6 points higher than its previous close but quickly reversed course, experiencing significant losses during the first hour of trading. It then stabilized at the same level of decline, maintaining the loss throughout the rest of the session. Overall, 11 out of 21 sectors closed in the red zone, while 86 shares fell and 132 rose. Banks (-0.3%), Energy (-0.5%), and Food and beverages (-0.7%) sectors contributed the most to the index fall. Stockwise, Al Rajhi Bank (-0.7%), Aramco (-0.5%), and ACWA Power (-0.3%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed an increase in volume by 28% to reach 950mn shares, while the value decreased by -27% to reach SAR2.8bn in value traded.

 

 

Market Wrap International: 

US and European markets were closed on Tuesday for the Christmas holiday, with only the Japanese and Chinese markets remaining open.

 

 

Shares in Tokyo advanced, while Shanghai dipped on Wednesday, with oil prices climbing amid limited market activity. The NIKKEI 225 gained 0.2%, reflecting a modest uptick in Japanese stocks, while the SHCOMP experienced a slight decline, falling by 0.01%
