Market Wrap International:

U.S. equities ended higher as investors welcomed stronger-than-expected corporate earnings and renewed buying in large-cap technology stocks, while optimism surrounding artificial intelligence investment helped improve overall risk appetite despite lingering expectations that the Federal Reserve will maintain a cautious policy stance. Information technology and communication services outperformed, offsetting mixed performance in defensive sectors as Treasury yields stabilized. The S&P 500 gained 0.7%, the NASDAQ advanced 1.0%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.5%.

European equities ended mixed as investors balanced another solid round of corporate earnings against persistent concerns over inflation, higher bond yields, and Middle East tensions, which continued to support energy shares while limiting broader market gains. Defensive sectors provided relative resilience, whereas media and some consumer-related stocks remained under pressure following company-specific earnings updates. The FTSE 100 declined -0.3%, the EURO STOXX 600 eased -0.1%, while the DAX added 0.1% and the CAC 40 gained 0.3%.

Asian markets are trading higher as improved sentiment from Wall Street's technology-led advance encouraged buying across regional equities, while expectations that demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure will remain resilient continued to support semiconductor and export-oriented shares. Japanese and South Korean markets led regional gains, with technology stocks rebounding strongly after recent volatility, while Chinese and Hong Kong equities posted more modest advances amid cautious domestic sentiment. The Nikkei 225 increased 4.0%, the KOSPI surged 17.9%, the Shanghai Composite rose 0.7%, and the Hang Seng edged up 0.1%.
