Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rose on Monday, gaining 35 points (+0.3%) to close at 12,105. The trading session began positively, rising by 7 points compared to the previous close, and continued to gradually increase until the end of the session. In general, 12 out of 21 sectors closed in the green zone, and 137 shares rose while 94 fell. Banks (+0.5%), Health care equipment and services (+2.1%), and Capital goods (+2.8%) sectors contributed the most to the index rise. Stockwise, Sulaiman Al Habib (+3.2%), Saudi National Bank (+1.1%), and Al Rajhi Bank (+0.3%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed an increase in volume and value by 57% and 53% respectively, to reach 401mn shares and SAR6.4bn in value traded.

Monday's rally in technology stocks is assisting U.S. indexes in regaining some of the ground lost during the holiday-season pullback that stretched into the new year. The NASDAQ advanced by 1.2%, the S&P 500 rose by 0.6%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped by -0.1%.
Despite slipping from earlier highs, European markets closed up on Monday afternoon, following U.S. President-elect Donald Trump’s rejection of a media report suggesting his tariff plan could be less aggressive than feared. The CAC 40 gained by 2.2%, the DAX rose 1.6%, the Euro STOXX 600 increased 1.0%, and FTSE 100 advanced 0.3%.
The first full week of 2025 got off to a shaky start for Asian markets, with traders struggling to mirror Wall Street's strong performance while their attention shifted to Donald Trump's second presidency. Key indices such as the KOSPI saw gains of 1.9%. In contrast, the Nikkei 225 experienced a decline of -1.5%, the Hang Seng fell -0.4%, and the SHCOMP dropped -0.1%.
