Market Wrap International:

Market Wrap International: U.S. equities closed lower as investors repriced the near-term Fed path and pushed yields higher ahead of key inflation data, tightening financial conditions for long-duration growth. Mega-cap tech and semiconductors led the pullback, while energy and defensives proved more resilient amid firmer crude and a steadier dollar. The S&P 500 –1.2%, Dow Jones Industrial Average –0.5%, and NASDAQ Composite ‎‎–1.8%.

European equities finished mixed as a UK-led bid followed softer domestic data and easing rate expectations, even as the continent took a cautious cue from the U.S. tech-driven risk-off tone. Miners and energy supported London, while eurozone cyclicals and parts of tech lagged with investors still wary of restrictive ECB policy and uneven growth momentum. The FTSE ‎‎100 +0.9%, DAX –0.5%, CAC 40 –0.2%, and no change in EURO STOXX 600.

Asian markets are trading higher as investors look through the U.S. tech downdraft and refocus on local catalysts, including a steadier China policy backdrop and selective strength in regional exporters. South Korea is leading gains on chip and battery names, while Hong Kong and mainland China are firmer and Japan is edging up modestly amid FX cross-currents. The Nikkei ‎‎225 +0.3%, Hang Seng +0.9%, Shanghai Composite +1.2 %, and KOSPI +1.4%.
