Tadawul Review: 

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) fell on Thursday, losing 16 points (-0.15%) to close at 10,930. TASI started the session on a negative note, opening 14 points lower than the previous close. The index traded in a slight volatile and remained in negative territory until the end of the session. In general, 12 out of 21 sectors closed in the red zone, and 128 shares fell while 120 Rose. Banks (-0.4%), Utilities (-0.9%), and Media (-2.4%) sectors contributed the most to the index fall. Stockwise, Saudi National Bank (-1.0%), ACWA Power (-1.4%), and Al Rajhi Bank (-0.2%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed a decrease in volume and value of -24% and -5%, respectively, to reach 272mn shares and SAR 4.5bn in value traded.

 

 

Market Wrap International:

The week wrapped up on a positive note for US stocks, with Wall Street seeing solid gains driven largely by strength in the technology sector. On Friday, major averages advanced, supported by notable increases in Information Technology (+1.22%), Communication Services (+1.21%), and Financials (+0.91%). The S&P 500 gained by 0.8%, NASDAQ rose by 1%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average saw an increase of 0.5%.

Despite upbeat earnings and potential progress on global tensions, European markets closed mixed, as worries about new tariffs and central bank decisions weighed on investor sentiment. The Euro STOXX 600 gained by 0.2% and the CAC40 increased by 0.4%, while the FTSE 100 saw a decrease of -0.1% and the DAX declined by -0.1%.

On Friday, Asian equities ended mostly lower as investors reacted cautiously to the implementation of reciprocal U.S. tariffs. The NIKKEI 225 posted an increase of 1.9%. In contrast, the KOSPI declined by -0.5%, the Hang Seng experienced a loss of -0.9%, and the SHCOMP dropped by -0.1%.
