Tadawul Review:

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) fell on Monday, slipping 39 points (-0.4%) to close at 10,325. The index opened slightly above its previous close and rose sharply in the initial minutes of trading. However, after about an hour, selling pressure emerged and continued a gradual decline throughout the session. In general, 17 out of 21 sectors closed in the red zone, while 191 shares fell and 61 rose. Utilities (-3.6%), Energy (-0.5%), and Food & beverages (-2.5%) sectors contributed the most to the index fall. Stockwise, ACWA Power (-4.7%), Almarai (-3.5%), and Aramco (-0.4%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed an increase in volume and value of 42% and 57%, respectively, to reach 243mn shares and SAR4bn in value traded.

 

 

 

Market Wrap International:

U.S. equities ended higher as broad-based buying supported risk appetite, with gains led by industrials, financials, and technology shares amid improving growth sentiment and supportive macro conditions. Investors positioned ahead of upcoming earnings and economic data, reinforcing early-year momentum across major benchmarks. The S&P 500 rose 0.6%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 1.2%, and the NASDAQ increased 0.7%.

European equities ended higher supported by strength in cyclical, mining, and defence-related stocks, while broader sentiment remained constructive on firm global demand expectations and steady monetary conditions. UK equities outperformed as heavyweight sectors lifted the FTSE 100 above the 10,000-point level, with continental markets also benefiting from improved sector rotation and risk appetite. The FTSE 100 rose 0.5%, the DAX advanced 1.3%, the CAC 40 gained 0.2%, and the EURO STOXX 600 climbed 0.9%.

 

Asian markets ended higher as strong gains across Japan and South Korea reflected renewed confidence in export-linked and technology sectors, while mainland China and Hong Kong posted more measured advances. Regional sentiment improved in response to positive global cues and solid demand for growth-sensitive equities. The SHCOMP rose 1.4%, the KOSPI gained ‎‎3.4%, the Nikkei 225 increased 3.0%, and the Hang Seng edged up 0.03%.
