Market Wrap International:

U.S. equities ended mixed as investors continued to favor technology and artificial intelligence-linked shares, while rising oil prices and renewed tensions in the Middle East reinforced concerns that inflation could remain elevated and keep the Federal Reserve cautious on policy easing. Gains in large-cap technology stocks offset weakness in more cyclical sectors, and attention increasingly shifted toward the start of the second-quarter earnings season and upcoming inflation data. Major European markets then struggled to sustain recent momentum as investors weighed geopolitical risks and a pullback in technology shares, with miners and travel-related stocks providing some support but broader sentiment remaining restrained amid higher energy prices and uncertainty over the outlook for global growth. In Asia, the final trading session of the week was led by a rebound in semiconductor and AI-related shares, with investors largely looking through earlier disruptions in the Middle East and focusing instead on strong demand expectations for technology and continued interest in chipmakers ahead of the earnings season.
