The trading session began negatively, with an -18 point decrease compared to the previous close, then fluctuated until the end of the session. In general, 8 out of 21 sectors closed in the green zone, and 72 shares rose while 159 fell. Real Estate (+0.9%), Banks (+0.1%), and Energy (+0.4%) sectors contributed the most to the index rise. Stockwise, Saudi Awwal Bank (+2.8%), Aramco (+0.4%), and Riyad Bank (+1.7%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed an increase in volume and value of 22% and 26%, respectively, to reach 277mn shares and SAR5.9bn in value traded.

The S&P 500 gained by 0.7%, the NASDAQ advanced by 1%, and Dow jones industrial edged up by 0.4%.
European markets climbed, with the FTSE 100 reaching an all-time high, as energy and mining stocks led the rally despite renewed trade concerns. The CAC 40 rose by 0.4%, the DAX gained by 0.6%, the Euro STOXX 600 advanced by 0.6%, and the FTSE 100 edged up by 0.8%.
