Tadawul Review: 

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) fell on Monday, down by -73points (-0.6%) to close at 12,125 levels. TASI started the session negatively, opening with fell of -44 points and continued to decline gradually until the end. In general, 15 of 21 sectors closed in the red zone, and 68 shares rose while 155 fell. Banks (-1.1%), Materials (-0.5%), and Real Estate (-1.1%) sectors contributed the most to the index fall. Stockwise, SNB (-2.0%), Sabic (-2.3%) and Sulaiman Al Habib (-2.4%) were the major contributors to the index’s fall. The trading activity witnessed an increase in volume and value of 4% and 37%, respectively, to reach 207mn shares and SAR6.1bn in value traded.

 

 

 

Market Wrap International:

The U.S. market experienced a rise, with the S&P 500 increasing by 0.1% and the Nasdaq composite surging by 0.7% as market participants face an early test as regulatory reforms to accelerate trade settlement coincide with a major index rebalance, raising concerns of potential spikes in failed trades.

In Europe, The Euro Stoxx 600 index edged up 0.2% on Monday, but gains were limited due to uncertainty surrounding interest rates, despite an increase in commodity-linked stocks. The FTSE 100 saw a slight rise.

In Asia, the SHCOMP and Hang Seng indices rose by 0.5% and 0.4%, respectively, as Chinese developers' shares wavered as investors doubted the effectiveness of China's attempts to stabilize the struggling property sector in generating sustainable demand and confidence. The Japan's TOPIX surged by 0.8% and the NIKKEI 225 rose by 0.7%.
