Tadawul Review:

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rose on Tuesday, gaining 6 points (+0.05%) to close at 11,015.55. The index opened 13 points above its previous close, but before closing it faced selling pressure, yet remained in the green zone. Overall, 7 out of 21 sectors closed in the green zone, and 96 shares rose while 156 fell. Materials (+0.9%), Banks (+0.3%), and Telecommunication Services (+1.0%) sectors contributed the most to the index rise. Stockwise, Sabic ‎‎(+2.2%), BSF (+2.1%), and Etihad Etisalat (+1.8%) were the major contributors to the index rise. The trading activity witnessed a decrease in volume and value of -‎‎23% and -25%, respectively, to reach 300mn shares and SAR 5.7bn in value traded.

 

 

Market Wrap International:  

U.S. equities ended modestly higher as continued enthusiasm around artificial intelligence and semiconductor-related companies offset caution surrounding Middle East developments and interest-rate expectations. Strong earnings updates and renewed investment in AI infrastructure supported technology shares, while investors also assessed labor-market data ahead of key economic releases. The semiconductor sector outperformed, helping sustain broader market momentum despite weakness in some large-cap technology names. The S&P 500 rose 0.1%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced 0.4%, and the NASDAQ was rose with 0.03%.

European equities ended higher as strong gains in technology stocks lifted sentiment, supported by optimism surrounding AI-related demand and easing concerns over energy-market volatility. Investors also reacted to inflation data that reinforced expectations for further European Central Bank policy tightening, while cyclical sectors generally outperformed. Technology shares led regional advances following upbeat guidance from semiconductor-linked companies. The FTSE 100 rose 0.3%, the DAX advanced 0.5%, the CAC 40 gained 0.8%, and the EURO STOXX 600 increased 0.7%.

Asian markets ended mixed as investors balanced the positive lead from U.S. technology shares against regional growth and policy considerations. Hong Kong equities outperformed on renewed buying interest in technology and growth stocks, while mainland Chinese shares also moved higher. Japanese equities slipped modestly as profit-taking limited gains, while South Korean stocks posted a small advance. The Hang Seng gained ‎‎2.5%, the SHCOMP rose 0.4%, the KOSPI advanced 0.1%, and the Nikkei 225 declined -0.3%.
