Market Wrap International:

U.S. equities ended lower as investors reduced exposure to large-cap technology and semiconductor shares following renewed concerns over elevated valuations in the AI sector, while stronger demand for safe-haven assets reflected a more cautious risk backdrop. Rising oil prices amid Middle East tensions also added to inflation concerns, limiting broader market sentiment despite relatively stable economic expectations. The NASDAQ declined -1.4%, the S&P 500 fell -1.0%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average lost -0.8%.

European equities ended mixed as weakness in technology and export-oriented shares offset support from energy stocks, which benefited from firmer crude oil prices. Investors also remained cautious as the global risk-off tone from Wall Street weighed on sentiment, while defensive sectors outperformed amid continued geopolitical uncertainty. The FTSE 100 gained 0.3%, while the DAX declined -0.3%, the CAC 40 fell -0.5%, and the EURO STOXX 600 eased -0.3%.

Asian markets are trading lower as the global technology selloff extended across the region, with semiconductor shares leading declines after weakness on Wall Street, while renewed Middle East tensions and higher oil prices further dampened investor sentiment. Japanese exporters were additionally pressured by risk aversion, while Chinese equities weakened on concerns over domestic growth and property-related headwinds. The Nikkei ‎‎225 dropped -4.0%, the Shanghai Composite declined -3.0%, and the Hang Seng fell -1.8%, while South Korea's KOSPI was closed.
