Market Wrap International:

U.S. equities ended the session lower as weakness in large-cap technology names and renewed caution ahead of key U.S. jobs and inflation releases weighed on risk appetite, while Treasury yields moved modestly and investors rotated into defensive and value pockets. Market attention on AI-related earnings and a lack of fresh Fed signals encouraged selective profit-taking in growth stocks. The S&P 500 fell -0.2%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined -0.1%, and the NASDAQ dropped -0.6%.

European equities ended higher, supported by gains in banks, miners, and energy shares as investors positioned ahead of upcoming central-bank meetings and digested corporate updates, with sentiment improving despite mixed global cues. Financials and industrials outperformed, while healthcare lagged on stock-specific factors. The FTSE 100 increased 1.1%, the DAX rose ‎‎0.2%, the CAC 40 advanced 0.7%, and the EURO STOXX 600 gained 0.7%.

Asian markets are trading lower, pressured by declines in technology and export-oriented stocks amid weaker regional data and spillover from U.S. tech losses, while currency movements and demand concerns weighed on sentiment. Losses were more pronounced in Japan and South Korea, with China and Hong Kong also retreating. The SHCOMP slipped -0.6%, the KOSPI fell -1.8%, the Nikkei 225 declined -1.3%, and the Hang Seng dropped -1.3%.
