Market Wrap International:

U.S. markets were closed on Friday, but the most impactful market-moving development was the softer-than-expected U.S. employment report, which showed weaker job creation, a modest uptick in the unemployment rate, and cooler wage growth than economists had anticipated. The report reinforced expectations of earlier Federal Reserve rate cuts and shaped sentiment across global equities, bonds, and currencies heading into the weekend.

European equities ended higher as easing U.S. rate expectations and improving risk sentiment supported a broad-based rally, with investors rotating into industrials, financials and selected cyclical stocks. Germany's DAX reached a fresh record high, while lower valuations relative to U.S. markets continued to attract investors. The FTSE 100 rose 0.2%, the DAX gained 0.8%, the CAC 40 advanced 0.4%, and the EURO STOXX 600 increased 0.7%.

Asian markets ended higher as improving global risk appetite, stronger regional manufacturing data and reduced expectations of tighter U.S. monetary policy supported buying across the region. Technology, industrial and export-oriented shares led gains, with South Korea outperforming on strength in semiconductor-related stocks, while sentiment also benefited from resilient Chinese economic indicators. The SHCOMP gained ‎‎0.4%, the KOSPI surged 5.8%, the Nikkei 225 advanced 1.5%, and the Hang Seng rose 1.3%.
