Tadawul Review: 

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rose on Sunday, up by +295 points (+2.5%) to close at 11,855 levels. TASI started positively with a 9 point gain, and the index continued to rise until the end of the trading day. In general, 21 out of 21 sectors closed in the green zone, and 215 shares rose while ‎‎13 fell. Banks (+3.5%), Materials (+1.5%), and Food and beverages (+4.7%) sectors contributed the most to the index rise. Stockwise, Al Rajhi Bank (+3.7%), SNB (+3.1%), and Sulaiman Al Habib (+6.6%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed a significant increase due to Aramco trading in volume and value of 687% and 736%, respectively, to reach 1963mn shares and SA53.9bn in value traded.

 

 

 

Market Wrap International:

The U.S. after the negatve performance of global markets on Friday Investors may glean more on the Federal Reserve’s resolve to ease monetary policy when US policymakers update their forecasts for interest rates Wednesday for the first time in three months.

In Europe, the euro zone, industrial production data on Monday is anticipated to show the smallest increase in three months, suggesting that the region also began the second quarter on a weak footing.

 

In Asian markets, the eyes are now on the BOJ meeting on Friday, which is expected to hold its short-term rate steady. People familiar with the matter have said officials may discuss whether to reduce bond purchases. Elsewhere, China’s consumer inflation is projected to accelerate a tad to 0.4% year on year in May, while factory-gate deflation may slow to ‎‎1.5%, the smallest drop in prices since February 2023.
