Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) fell on Wednesday, dropping by -65 points (-0.5%) to close at the 12,117 level. TASI started the session negatively, opening with a decline of 4 points, and continued to gradually decline until the end of the session. Overall, 12 out of 21 sectors closed in the red zone, while 131 shares fell and 90 rose. Banks (-1.4%), Telecommunications (-1.5%), and Real Estate (-0.8%) sectors contributed the most to the index fall. Stockwise, Al Rajhi Bank (-1.5%), Saudi National Bank (-2.4%), and Saudi Telecom (-2.1%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed a decrease in volume and value of -23% and -19%, respectively, to reach 248mn shares and SAR6.8bn in value traded.
Global stock markets inched down as investors awaited a crucial earnings announcement from Nvidia Corp., the $3 trillion company at the center of the global AI boom. The S&P 500 declined by -0.6%, the Nasdaq Composite lost -1.1%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average decreased by -0.4%.
In Europe, markets were mixed as investors awaited new earnings reports and economic data for insights into the global outlook. The CAC 40 rose by 0.2%, the DAX climbed by 0.5%, and the FTSE 100 decreased by -0.02%.
Asian stock markets also showed mixed performances, particularly among technology-focused indexes. The Hang Seng dropped by -1%, the Nikkei 225 increased by 0.2%, and the KOSPI edged up by 0.02%.
