Tadawul Review:

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rose on Tuesday, gaining 54 points (+0.5%) to close at 11,674. The index opened slightly below its previous closing level, then gradually increased until the end of the session. Overall, 16 out of 21 sectors closed in the green zone, and 117 shares rose while 124 fell. Banks (+0.6%), Utilities (+1.4%), and Energy (+0.3%) sectors contributed the most to the index rise. Stockwise, Saudi National Bank (+1.7%), ACWA Power (+1.8%), and Aramco (+0.3%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed a decrease in volume of -3% to reach 258mn shares, while the value rose by 5% to reach SAR5.6bn in value traded.

 

 

 

Market Wrap International:

U.S. equities extended their advance as strong corporate earnings and easing Treasury yields bolstered sentiment ahead of next week’s Federal Reserve meeting. Investors remained focused on signals of a potential policy pivot, while resilient tech demand and upbeat forward guidance from major software and chipmakers supported risk appetite. The S&P 500 +0.2 %, Dow Jones Industrial Average +0.3 %, and NASDAQ Composite +0.8 %.

European markets were mixed, as optimism over improving U.S. and global demand was offset by caution ahead of eurozone inflation data and ECB commentary later this week. Energy and consumer stocks helped limit losses in London, while Frankfurt and Paris drifted lower amid profit-taking. The FTSE 100 +0.4 %, DAX -0.1 %, CAC 40 -0.3 %, and EURO STOXX 600 -0.2 %.

Asian equities retreated as traders took profits following recent sharp gains and as renewed concerns over regional export weakness and currency pressures weighed on sentiment. Japan and South Korea led declines, while mainland China and Hong Kong saw modest pullbacks amid cautious foreign flows. The Shanghai Composite -0.2 %, Kospi -0.8 %, Nikkei 225 -0.6 %, and Hang Seng Index -0.3 %.
