Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) fell on Tuesday, dropping 86 points (-0.8%) to close at 11,098. The index opened 18 points below its previous close and continued to gradually decrease throughout the session. Despite recovering some losses towards the end of the session, the index closed in the negative territory. Overall, 20 out of 21 sectors closed in the red zone, while 218 shares fell and 42 rose. Banks (-0.8%), Materials (-1.2%), and Energy (-0.6%) sectors contributed the most to the index fall. Stockwise, Al Rajhi Bank (-1.0%), Aramco (-0.6%), and Saudi National Bank (-1.2%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed a decrease in volume by -4% to reach 226mn shares, while the value increased by 13% to reach SAR4.6bn in value traded.

Asian markets are trading with a mixed tone, with Japan’s export-oriented shares under pressure amid currency movements and cautious global risk appetite, while several regional exchanges remain closed. The Nikkei 225 declined -0.4%, while China’s SHCOMP, South Korea’s KOSPI, and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng were closed.
