Market Wrap International:

U.S. equities ended lower as stronger-than-expected inflation data reinforced concerns over Federal Reserve policy and higher borrowing costs, while scrutiny of artificial-intelligence infrastructure financing added pressure on technology and semiconductor shares. European markets showed greater resilience, with corporate earnings helping offset the global technology selloff and supporting gains across major benchmarks. In Asia, the last completed session saw a recovery in technology and semiconductor shares following the previous selloff, although elevated U.S. Treasury yields, currency pressures and uncertainty surrounding AI-related financing continued to temper risk appetite.
