Tadawul Review:

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) fell on Wednesday, decreasing by 209 points (-1.7%) to close at the 12,044 level. TASI started the session negatively, opening with a decline of ‎‎108 points and continuing to decrease gradually until the end of the session. Overall, 21 out of 21 sectors closed in the red zone, while 226 shares fell and 10 rose. Banks (-2.5%), Materials (-1.2%), and Real Estate (-2.1%) sectors contributed the most to the index fall. Stockwise, Al Rajhi Bank (-2.9%), Saudi National Bank (-2.3%), and Alinma Bank ‎‎(-2.4%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed an increase in volume and value of 52% and 26%, respectively, to reach 1.0bn shares and SAR8.1bn in value traded.

 

 

Market Wrap International: 

Despite rising tensions in the Middle East and a 3% increase in oil prices, stocks remained stable on Wednesday as investors held their ground. Safe-haven assets like government bonds and the dollar saw increased demand. The Dow Jones Industrial Average and Nasdaq Composite both gained 0.1%, while the S&P 500 inched up 0.01%.

On Wednesday, European equities rose, driven by advances in oil and defense industries, bucking a downturn in Wall Street and Asia following Iran's missile strike on Israel, which increased concerns about a wider regional confrontation. The DAX fell by -0.3%, the FTSE 100 rose by 0.2%, and the CAC 40 increased by 0.1%.

Amid growing tensions in the Middle East, Hong Kong shares surged on Wednesday while other Asian markets declined. Asian markets saw a range of results, with the Hang Seng rising by 6.2%, the NIKKEI 225 falling by -2.2%, and the KOSPI falling by -1.2%.
