Market Wrap International:
U.S. equities ended mixed in the final session of last week as investors balanced encouraging corporate earnings against persistent uncertainty over the interest-rate outlook and developments in the Middle East. Rotation into financials, industrials, and other cyclical sectors offset profit-taking in parts of the technology sector, while attention increasingly shifted toward a pivotal week of major technology earnings, Federal Reserve policy, and key U.S. economic data. That cautious tone carried into Europe, where major markets were broadly steady as investors assessed another round of corporate results alongside the implications of elevated energy prices and geopolitical risks, with strength in selected technology shares helping counter softer performance in energy and other cyclical sectors. The final trading session in Asia reflected the same cautious backdrop, as investors weighed global policy expectations, regional developments, and technology-related momentum, before sentiment improved into the start of the new week following easing concerns over Middle East tensions and lower oil prices, supporting risk appetite ahead of central bank meetings and earnings from major global companies.
