Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rose on thuresday gaining 67 points (+0.6%) to close at the 11,994.22 level. The index opened strong but dipped during the first before steadily climbing again as the day progressed. In general, 19 out of 21 sectors closed in the green zone, and 185 shares rose while 39 fell. Banks (+0.8%), Materials (+0.8%), and Energy (+0.4%) sectors contributed the most to the index rise. Stockwise, Al Rajhi Bank (+0.4%), Maaden (+3.7%), and Aramco (+0.4%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed a decrease in volume and value by -13% and -20%, respectively, to reach 547mn shares and SAR5.85bn in value traded.
Futures for equity markets indicated a slightly subdued start for Wall Street, as traders awaited crucial inflation data that could influence the Federal Reserve's stance on interest rate cuts.
