Market Wrap International:

U.S. equities ended mixed as investors reassessed the Federal Reserve’s policy path following last week’s rate cut. Fed officials signaled that a December move is not assured, tempering expectations for aggressive easing. Treasury yields held steady while the dollar climbed to a three-month high, reflecting reduced near-term rate-cut bets. The S&P 500 +0.2 %, Dow Jones −0.5 %, and NASDAQ +0.5 %.

European markets were modestly higher, supported by improving industrial data and easing inflation trends across parts of the eurozone. Gains were contained, however, by lingering fiscal concerns and cautious sentiment ahead of fresh ECB commentary. The DAX +0.7 %, FTSE 100 −0.2 %, CAC −0.1 %, and EURO STOXX 600 +0.1 %.

Asian equities advanced broadly, led by a strong rally in South Korea’s technology sector and renewed optimism over China’s policy support measures. Regional sentiment improved as investors looked past U.S. rate uncertainty to focus on local growth momentum. The Shanghai Composite +0.5 %, Kospi +2.8 %, and Hang Seng +1.0 %.
