Market Wrap International:

Global markets ended last week with a mix of gains and caution. In the U.S., softer July inflation strengthened expectations for a September Fed rate cut, driving the S&P 500 and Nasdaq to fresh records before a modest late-week pullback. In Europe, the FTSE 100 set new highs, supported by global risk appetite, while Germany’s CPI confirmed further easing in price pressures. In Asia, Japan’s Q2 GDP showed modest growth, and sentiment stayed measured ahead of the Trump–Putin summit in Alaska. Commodities saw renewed safe-haven demand for gold, while oil prices eased on weaker demand signals and geopolitical uncertainty.
