Tadawul Review:  

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) fell on Tuesday for the sixth consecutive day, dropping by -118 points (-1.1%) to close at 11,095. The index opened 13 points lower than its previous closing level and continued to decline until the end of the session. Overall, 20 out of 21 sectors closed in the red zone, while 204 shares fell and 46 rose. Banks (-1.2%), Telecommunications (-1.6%), and Energy ‎‎(-1.0%) sectors contributed the most to the index fall. Stockwise, Al Rajhi Bank (-1.3%), Aramco (-1.1%), and Saudi National Bank (-1.7%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed an increase in volume of 15% to reach ‎‎273mn while the value decreased by -1% to reach SAR4.5bn value traded.

 

 

Market Wrap International:

U.S. markets closed mixed on Tuesday as a stronger-than-expected inflation reading and underwhelming bank earnings weighed on sentiment. Sectors such as Materials (-2.11%), Health Care (-1.88%), and Financials (-1.65%) posted notable declines. Meanwhile, the Nasdaq outperformed, supported by gains in Nvidia amid reports it could receive approval to continue trading with China. The S&P 500 dropped by -0.4%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell by -1%, while the NASDAQ advanced by 0.2%.

European markets edged lower, with the FTSE 100 retreating from record highs as U.S. inflation concerns and weak earnings from firms weighed on sentiment. The CAC 40 fell by -0.5%, DAX dropped by -0.4%, the European STOXX 600 dipped by -0.4%, and the FTSE 100 saw a decrease of -0.7%.

Asian markets advanced on Tuesday, as investors looked past U.S. tariff threats and welcomed upbeat first-half GDP figures out of China. The NIKKEI 225 gained by 0.6%, the KOSPI increased by 0.4%, and Hang Seng experienced a gain of 1.6%, while the SHCOMP posted a decline of -0.42%.
