Tadawul Review:

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rose on Wednesday, gaining 26 points (+0.2%) to close at 11,529. The index opened 11 points above its previous close and climbed gradually until after mid-session, then faced selling pressure but still closed in the green zone. Overall, 11 out of 21 sectors closed in the green zone, and 116 shares rose while 131 fell. Banks (+0.4%), Materials (+0.8%), and Food and beverages (+1.0%) sectors contributed the most to the index rise. Stockwise, Maaden (+2.5%), Riyad Bank (+3.0%), and Saudi Fransi (+2.5%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed a decrease in volume and value of -9% and -23%, respectively, to reach 357mn shares and SAR6 bn in value traded.

 

 

Market Wrap International:

U.S. stocks ended modestly higher as investors weighed weaker-than-expected private payroll data and the ongoing government shutdown, with optimism over potential Fed rate cuts supporting sentiment. Technology shares provided a boost while defensive sectors saw mixed flows. The S&P 500 gained 0.3%, the Dow Jones added 0.1%, and the Nasdaq advanced 0.4%.

European markets rallied broadly, led by healthcare and financials, as easing bond yields and spillover strength from Wall Street drove gains. The FTSE 100 rose 1.0%, the DAX climbed 1.0%, the CAC advanced 0.9%, and the Euro Stoxx 600 gained 1.2%.

Asian trading was uneven, with South Korea supported by semiconductor strength while Japan lagged on exporter weakness and currency pressures. The Kospi rose 0.9%, while the Nikkei 225 fell 0.8%.
