Market Wrap International:

U.S. equities ended lower as Wall Street pulled back amid mixed earnings and macro signals, with banking sector results disappointing and broader indices retreating after recent gains. The S&P 500 declined -0.2%, the Dow Jones fell -0.8%, and the NASDAQ eased -0.1% as profit-taking emerged and investor caution increased ahead of upcoming economic data and inflation readings. The pullback followed a broader pause in U.S. market rallies after recent strong performances, with sentiment sensitive to earnings beats and misses across key sectors.

European equities ended on a mixed but subdued tone after tracking Wall Street’s weaker cues, with local markets showing limited momentum in the absence of fresh catalysts. The FTSE ‎‎100 slightly fell by -0.03%, the DAX rose 0.1%, the CAC declined -0.14%, and the EURO STOXX 600 slipped -0.1%, reflecting cautious positioning ahead of regional earnings and data releases. European sentiment mirrored U.S. risk aversion, while some defensive sectors provided mild support amid broader hesitancy.

Asian markets are trading with a divergence between strong gains in Japan and broader mixed performance across the region as global risk sentiment remains uneven. The Nikkei 225 advanced 3.1%, the KOSPI rose 1.5%, and the Hang Seng climbed 0.9%, while the Shanghai Composite SHCOMP eased -‎‎0.6% on renewed profit-taking after recent rallies. Japanese equities led Asian performance on record highs and positive domestic flows, while Chinese benchmarks lagged amid selective sector consolidation.
