Tadawul Review:

The Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) declined on Wednesday, dropping -13 points (-0.1%) to close at ‎‎11,705. The index opened 19 points higher than the previous close but experienced sharp fluctuations early in the session before trending downward toward the close. Overall, 10 out of 21 sectors ended in the red, with 83 stocks declining and 155 advancing. The Utilities (-2.6%), Food and Beverages (-1.4%), and Energy (-0.3%) sectors were the largest contributors to the decline. Among individual stocks, ACWA Power ‎‎(-3.3%), Maaden (-2.5%), and Aramco (-0.4%) recorded the steepest losses.  Trading activity dropped by -16% in volume, with 335 million shares exchanged, and fell by -30% in value, totaling SAR 5.4 billion.

 

 

Market Wrap International:

Stocks rebounded on Wednesday after cooler-than-expected February inflation data eased some concerns, following two days of heavy losses. However, bond yields climbed as investors remained wary of escalating trade tensions. In the S&P 500, information technology led gains, rising 1.56%, followed by communication services at 1.43% and consumer discretionary at 1.02%. The S&P 500 rose by 0.5%, and the Nasdaq gained by 1.2%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined by -0.2%.

European markets posted broad gains on Wednesday, despite the European Union imposing retaliatory tariffs on a range of U.S. imports and President Donald Trump hinting at further countermeasures. The CAC 40 rose by 0.6%, the DAX gained 1.6%, the Euro STOXX 600 advanced by 0.8%, and the FTSE 100 edged up by 0.5%.

Asia-Pacific markets ended mixed on Wednesday as investors weighed trade policy uncertainties and recession fears, following a volatile session on Wall Street. The Hang Seng declined by -0.8%, the SHCOMP decreased by -0.2%, while the Nikkei 225 advanced 0.1%, and the KOSPI gained by 1.5%.
