In general, 20 out of 21 sectors closed in the green zone, and 19 shares fell while 213 rose. Banks (+2.0%), Utilities (+4.3%), and Materials (+1.0%) sectors contributed the most to the index raise. Stockwise, ACWA Power (+4.8%), Al Rajhi Bank (+1.9%), and Alinma Bank (+3.6%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed an increase in volume by 19% and noticeable increase in value by 25%, to reach 917mn shares and SAR5.5bn in value traded.
As a weekly average, US indices showed mixed results. The S&P 500 was nearly flat with a 0.01% gain, while the Dow Jones fell by -0.45%. In contrast, the NASDAQ rose by 0.43%. The Nonfarm Payrolls report for October in the U.S. is set to be released on November 1st.
As a weekly average, European indices displayed a generally negative trend. The FTSE 100 saw a minimal gain of 0.003%, while both the DAX and CAC recorded declines of -0.02% and -0.24%, respectively. The EURO STOXX 600 also fell by -0.23%. As a weekly average, Asian indices had mixed results. The SHCOMP rose by 2.01%, while the KOSPI and NIKKEI 225 declined by -0.94% and -2.34%. The Hang Seng saw a slight increase of 0.002%, and the TOPIX fell by -1.64%, reflecting varied market conditions across the region.
