Tadawul Review:
Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rose on Monday, gaining 26 points (+0.2%) to close at 11,620. The index opened 10 points above its previous close, then started to fluctuate in the positive territory until the end of the session. Overall, 10 out of 21 sectors closed in the green zone, and 100 shares rose while 150 fell. Banks (+0.9%), Materials (+0.4%), and Energy (+0.2%) sectors contributed the most to the index rise. Stockwise, Al Rajhi Bank (+1.8%), Saudi National Bank (+0.8%), and Aramco (+0.2%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed a increase in volume and value of 57% and 65%, respectively, to reach 266 shares and SAR5.4bn in value traded.
Market Wrap International:
U.S. equities advanced as renewed optimism over U.S.–China trade discussions and expectations of a Federal Reserve rate cut later this month fueled broad gains across sectors. Technology shares outperformed, propelling major benchmarks toward record territory as risk sentiment improved. The S&P 500 +1.2 %, Dow Jones Industrial Average +0.7 %, and NASDAQ Composite +1.9 %.
European markets closed higher, supported by easing global trade tensions and resilient corporate earnings. Gains were contained, however, as investors awaited key eurozone inflation data and policy guidance from the European Central Bank. The FTSE 100 +0.1 %, DAX +0.3 %, CAC 40 +0.2 %, and EURO STOXX 600 +0.2 %.
Asian stocks rallied sharply, buoyed by progress in U.S.–China trade talks and an upgraded trade pact between China and ASEAN that strengthened regional sentiment. Japan and South Korea led the advance, while Chinese and Hong Kong benchmarks also posted solid gains. The Shanghai Composite +1.2 %, Kospi +2.6 %, Nikkei 225 +2.5 %, and Hang Seng Index +1.0 %.
