Tadawul Review:

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rose on Monday, gaining 99 points (+0.8%) to close at 11,949. The trading session began positively with a 9-point increase at the opening, but then showed fluctuations until the middle of the day, after which it gradually increased until the end of the session. In general, 14 out of 21 sectors closed in the green zone, and 111 shares rose while 117 fell. Banks (+2.0%), Real Estate (+0.9%), and Materials (+0.3%) sectors contributed the most to the index rise. Stockwise, Al Rajhi Bank (+2.8%), Saudi National Bank (+1.5%), and Alinma Bank (+1.6%) were the major contributors. The trading activity witnessed an increase in volume and value of 14% and 19%, respectively, to reach 195mn shares and SAR4.9bn in value traded.

 

 

 

Market Wrap International: 

U.S. inflation data provided optimism for potential policy easing next year, lifting global stock markets on Monday, while news of Washington averting a government shutdown offered additional relief. The NASDAQ rose by 1%, the S&P 500 gained 0.7%, and the Dow Jones Industrial added 0.2%.

 

European markets experienced small increases on Monday as the week before Christmas began with reduced trading hours. The FTSE 100 gained 0.2%, and the Euro STOXX 600 rose by 0.1%, while the DAX declined by -0.2% and the CAC 40 edged down by -0.03%.

 

Asian markets turned positive on Monday, rebounding from the turmoil in U.S. stocks the previous week. Key indices showed strong gains, with the KOSPI rising by 1.6%, the NIKKEI 225 advancing 1.2%, and the Hang Seng up by 0.8%. In contrast, the SHCOMP ended lower, slipping by -0.5%.
