Market Wrap International:

U.S. equities ended lower as major benchmarks retreated amid renewed selling in technology names and caution ahead of policy developments and earnings. Persistent profit-taking in big tech weighed on risk sentiment, contributing to broader weakness in growth sectors, while investors also digested macro news and geopolitical spill-overs from overseas markets. The S&P 500 declined -0.4%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped -0.4%, and the NASDAQ Composite fell -0.9%, reflecting broad market pressure led by tech and growth stocks.

European equities ended higher as broad risk appetite stabilized after a cautious start, with gains across major markets supported by firm corporate news and constructive macro signals that helped buoy regional sentiment. The FTSE 100 rose 0.5%, the DAX increased 0.9%, the CAC 40 advanced 0.7%, and the EURO STOXX 600 climbed 0.6%, with financials and cyclicals participating in the advance.

Asian markets are trading mixed with Chinese and Hong Kong shares under pressure on profit-taking and spill-over from U.S. volatility, while other regional markets show relative resilience. The SHCOMP is down -1.0% and the Hang Seng has slid -2.1% as investors book gains after recent rallies, the KOSPI is modestly up 0.1%, the Nikkei 225 is slightly lower at -0.1%, and broader Asia sees uneven sector performance.
